Make Time To Talk

Leadership rhetoric often espouses the importance of communication in both the successful performance of employees and the maintenance of a healthy leader-follower relationship. However, it is also true that in an economic climate such as that which we are all suffering, the time to communicate is at a premium. With this in mind, an article entitled Let Yourself Be Interrupted By Employees caught my eye. The article simply re-asserts the importance of communication, but encourages leaders to listen to the counter-intuitive voice in their heads which tells them to make time for socialising with employees, despite the amount of externally focused work that needs completed.
